The GRP model was developed by FAWE and introduced in the 3 FAWETZ COEs.
The model trains teachers to promote equal treatment and participation girl and boys within the school environment. The GRP trains teachers in the design and use of gender responsive teaching and learning materials, lesson plans, classroom set up and interaction; use of gender sensitive language in and out of the classroom; management of sexual maturation; strategies to eliminate sexual harassment; gender receptive school management systems, monitoring and evaluation.
The model has been adopted and mainstreamed in the teaching of education professionals at two university colleges of education, some primary and secondary schools in 29 districts. GRP enhances girls’ participation in the classroom and hence complements TUSEME empowerment activities in and outside classroom.
