FAWETZ is currently implementing 18months project to address violence in schools, reporting and policy change in Tanzania around three regions namely Geita, Tabora and Singida. The project will reach 2 secondary schools (Mgusu secondary school in Geita and Lulumba secondary in Singida) whilst in Tabora focused with 1 primary school namely Magiri primary school.
The project aims to create and maintain a safe, supportive and inclusive education environment that promotes the well-being of all students in academic success through conducting baseline survey to assess the current state of violence in schools, training teachers on positive disciplinary ways that do not involve violence but also advocating for proper policy and law enforcement.
