FORUM FOR AFRICAN WOMEN EDUCATIONALIST - TANZANIA CHAPTER (FAWETZ)

A Non-Governmental Organization that was founded in 1996 and was officially registered in 1998 demonstrating its commitment to operating within legal frameworks. The organization adheres to the NGO Act No 24 of 2002 and was subsequently re-registered in 2016. Being one of the 34 chapters, FAWE Tanzania chapter (FAWETZ) implements FAWE’s mandate at national level in addressing gender equity and equality. Guided by an Executive Committee led by Chairperson and assisted by a staff team led by National Coordinator.

FAWE Tanzania is committed to advancing equitable access to quality education for girls and women through advocacy, policy engagement, and evidence-based interventions. The organization works closely with government institutions, development partners, and other stakeholders to influence the formulation, adoption, and implementation of policies that promote girls’ education and gender equality. FAWE Tanzania also advocates for increased investment in education and the integration of gender-responsive approaches across all levels of the education system to ensure that no girl is left behind.

FAWE Tanzania develops and demonstrates innovative models and best practices that can be replicated and scaled up to improve educational outcomes. By institutionalizing robust monitoring, evaluation, and learning systems, the organization generates evidence, measures impact, and continuously strengthens its programmes to ensure sustainable and transformative change for girls, women, and marginalized learners.

Our Strategic objective

  1. 1. To conduct strategic advocacy campaign, by developing advocacy material and public awareness campaign.
  1. 2. To undertake comprehensive research initiatives to identify and address gender based violence within educational setting, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for learners.
  1. 3. To strengthen the capacity of communities and educators through targeted capacity building programs, equipping them necessary tools and knowledge to effectively champion girls’ education.
  1. 4. To cultivate robust partnership and networks with aligned organizations and institutions, fostering synergy and collaboration to amplify the impact of initiatives aimed at advancing girls’ education.
  1. 5. To enhance institutional capacity through strategic investments in organizational development governance and operational efficiency enabling the organization to effectively fulfil its mission and objectives.
