Organizational strengthening for effective implementation of priorities.
The project is a capacity-building initiative for the chapter to address gaps in its operations and internal processes-funded by Echidna. Echidna 3 grant aims at supporting and strengthening advocacy to enable the organisation to address the pressing challenges for girl’s education particularly in championing re-entry policy for teenage mothers.
It focuses on promoting gender-responsive teaching, support teenage mothers in conflict-affected areas, and monitoring government compliance in implementing the Maputo Protocol. Despite challenges like civil unrest and limited awareness of gender laws, the program has elevated FAWE’s leadership in Gender Transformative Education, pushing for inclusive, rights-based learning environments across Africa.
Ministries engaged are Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MoEST), President office, Regional Administration and Local Government (PO-RALG) and Ministry of Community Development Gender, Women and Special groups (MoCDGWSG).
