Towards International Day to End Corporal Punishment

Towards International Day to End Corporal Punishment, on 29th April 2026, FAWE Tanzania as part of the Thematic Working Group led by WiLDAF and Save the Children, joined other stakeholders from various organizations in engaging with members of the media to issue a joint press statement on corporal punishment.

Through this collective voice, we call upon policymakers to review and reform existing policies and regulations to uphold the dignity and rights of every child by ensuring safe and inclusive learning environments. We also urge religious leaders to speak out against beliefs and practices that perpetuate violence, parents and caregivers to embrace positive, non-violent parenting approaches, and the media to play a responsible role in raising awareness and driving change.
